Decadent Delights a sweet new presence in Tallahassee

by Tallahassee Table

Add a little sweetness to your life at the new bakery, Decadent Delights Tally on Apalachee Parkway. Everything there looks so tempting it’s hard to decide. On my first recent visit there, I bought red velvet, cookies and cream and vanilla cupcakes along with chocolate brownies (with and without nuts).

The cupcakes come in two sizes — small (but not mini) and large — and they are so good. My husband’s favorite was the red velvet. I was torn between the red velvet and chocolate with a cookies-and-cream icing. They were both scrumptious. The vanilla was also good, and we liked the icing with chopped nuts (you can also get it without nuts).

My friend Gail Racioppi Brayman (pictured here), who also bought three cupcakes as well, called her lemon pick the best lemon cupcakes the best she’s ever had. Her grandson gave the chocolate with cookies and cream a 5 out of 5.

The brownies were also terrific, sinfully rich.

Arkeba Bouie also creates three-layer cakes in this cozy spot. Gail and I took our treats to go but there are a few seats at the counter here.

Before Arkeba opened her shop, she was previously a budget specialist for the Florida Supreme Court and also did wholesale baking. Her first brick-and-mortar shop is in the same shopping center as BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, adjacent to Kami Poke & Korean Restaurant and Canopy Road Cafe.

Wishing Arkeba the best of luck in her new business.
