Siblings cook breakfast fare and coffee at Tallahassee food truck
If you haven’t tried the Right Way Breakfast Co., you’ll want to dash over to the food truck for their homemade bagels, breakfast sandwiches and coffee drinks.
The Right Way Breakfast Co is parked on Capital Circle outside Momentum Fitness. They’ve expanded their schedule this week so you can stop by from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Their new items include the Spiked Pumpkin Spice and the Spiced Pumpkin Iced Latte, both made with the high-quality, organic Holy Kakow pumpkin syrup.

Siblings Tracey and Cornelius Masterson are behind The Right Way Breakfast Co. The two young entrepreneurs grew up working in the restaurant and hospitality business in New Jersey. In the summers, they helped in their Uncle Vinny’s pizzeria, Cammarata’s, in Livingston, where they rolled dough and made meatballs.
These were good lessons. In their bagel biz, the Masterson siblings proof their dough the night before and come to the truck at 3:45 a.m. to boil and bake their bagels.Tracey does the cooking while Cornelius takes care of orders and coffee, sometimes with help from their dad, also Cornelius. The siblings both still work second jobs. Their slogan is “Serious Breakfast. Not-so serious people.”
I first read about The Right Way Breakfast Co. in a post by my friend, Rick Oppenheim. I know he is a serious bagel lover and orders his bagels online from New Yorker Bagels. So when Rick raved about the place, I had to try it.

The Mastersons prefer to call their trailer a cafe on wheels. It’s parked outside Momentum Fitness, where Tracey has worked as a trainer, in the Momentum Plaza. They have a few tables and chairs in front of the truck but most customers do take out. Arrive early because they could sell out of some choices.

The Right Way serves four breakfast sandwiches on homemade rolls or bagels. Bagel choices are: Plain, Everything, Sesame and Cheddar (a newcomer).
Some of you will be familiar with pork roll or Taylor ham. The generous Right Way Sandwich packs in slices of flavorful pork roll, Cheddar cheese and two fried eggs, which we had with an outstanding plain bagel.
We especially liked the bagels with Taylor Ham and the Classic. Eager to try more. Photo / Tallahassee Table
My husband ordered The Classic Way with bacon, eggs and cheese on an Everything bagel. These are not like the prepared breakfast sandwiches at fast food places. You can also order bagels with schmears: plain, blueberry lemon, strawberry, cinnamon swirl or “lox and loaded” (with lox, capers and red onions).

The Right Way serves a variety of hot and cold coffee drinks, including lattes or cappuccino. Aside from pumpkin, their other syrups are made in small batches from the organic company Holy Kakow and they’re dairy, gluten and preservative free.
