food & wine fests

by Tallahassee Table

If you plan vacations or even just the occasional road trip around foodie events, there are plenty of festivals throughout Florida where
you can eat and drink to your heart’s content.

We’re already thinking about the 21st Epcot International Wine & Food Festival, which will add nine more days of sipping and savoring EPCOT FOOD AND WINE FESTgoodies in 2016, from Sept. 14 to Nov. 14.

And there’s an event on Oct. 15 that, while maybe on a smaller scale,  sounds inviting — the Rosemary Beach Uncorked Wine Festival, which will offer food and lots of spirits.

But you don’t have to wait until the fall to celebrate food and wine in Florida. Here are a few  events coming up.

SEPTEMBER

4th Annual Florida Tap Invitational: Proof  Brewery will be featuring more than 100 new and rare beers from Florida breweries at this brew fest. The invitational has been extended to a two-day event with a kick-off block party at Madison Social Friday night, Sept. 16, when  your festival ticket gets you access to a food and beer pairing  on Madison Street. Restaurants will be pairing a menu item with a beer. The beer  festival continues on Saturday, Sept. 17. Tickets: $35 general admission;  $50  VIP (3 p.m. entrance and complimentary food).  All tickets include a commemorative glass and entrance to the Friday night concert, block party and food and beer pairing.
When:  7 p.m. Sept. 16 and 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17
Where:
Proof Brewery, 644 McDonnell Drive

The Fuzzy Pineapple: The name itself makes us want to check out this second annual arts and crafts festival, which will feature entertainment, food, artists, a scavenger hunt, art auction, art contests and prizes. The first 200 people will receive a good bag. The event is free and pets are welcome.
When:  11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 17
