Wondering about the future of the former Proof space in Railroad Square? A business called The Yard briefly opened and closed in May, after about three months. But there’s good news here. The Yard is being revamped, redesigned and renamed.

The venue will be called Railroad Square Craft House, and we’re told the outdoor patio area will be “artified” to become an event space with the name The Art Garden.

There are plans to host live music and community events in the green space, which will feature a solar powered stage. Justine Spells, one of the owners of the Craft House, said the facility will rent out the outdoor space for other businesses to put on programs. Other owners/partners are Andrew Stone, Adam Kaye and Ben Fisch.  The Craft House will also sponsor live music a few nights a week, she said.

The opening is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 16.

Inside, Proof’s former space is being reconfigured somewhat to all for lounge seating. The venue will be offering 20 beers on tap and all but a few will be local and Florida beers. It won’t be a brewery.

Aside from craft beer, Spells said they’ll offer craft wine cocktails and “some nice wines” and a limited menu.
